5. Fit a large piping bag with a piping tip and portion half of the cookie dough into the bag.

6. Pipe cookies into swirl shapes on an unlined and ungreased cookie sheet. Pop them in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are just beginning to turn golden brown.

7. Let the cookies cool for 10 minutes on the sheet before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

8. It’s important to not pipe cookie dough onto a hot or warm cookie sheet.

9. If you’re feeling fancy, you can dip the cookies in chocolate. Simply combine chocolate chips and shortening in a small bowl. Heat in the microwave in 20-second increments, stirring well in between until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
