5. When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 180C/350F.

6. Generously butter a 20cm/8-inch springform cake tin. If you know your springform pan might leak, place it on a tray with baking paper underneath. However, the bread should soak up most of the egg, minimizing leakage.

7. Pour the bread mixture into the prepared cake tin and softly pat it down. Then, sprinkle the top with the reserved bacon and the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.

8. Cover the tin loosely with foil and bake it in the oven for 30 minutes. After that, remove the foil and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

9. Once done, allow the strata to rest for about 5 minutes before removing the springform. Garnish with parsley and cut into slices to serve. Enjoy your delicious, hearty breakfast!
