A group of young people transform the dilapidated stairwells of their public housing project and the result is incredible

In the town of Gisors, located in the Eure department, a group of young people from a working-class neighborhood decided to take matters into their own hands to renovate the dilapidated stairwells of their HLM buildings. These spaces, abandoned for more than 40 years, showed obvious signs of deterioration: peeling paint, traces of water and dirt.

At the origin of this inspiring project is an interior designer and graffiti artist known under the pseudonym graffdeco75 on Instagram. This 28-year-old young man was able to bring together six friends around him, all driven by the same desire for change. Together, they decided to tackle the renovation of the stairwells, putting their skills and energy at the service of their community.

Their motivation was clear: to offer residents a more pleasant and welcoming living environment. Aware of the state of disrepair of the common areas, unchanged for decades, these young people have chosen to no longer wait for the intervention of the authorities and to take matters into their own hands. Their commitment demonstrates a deep desire to bring positive change to their neighborhood.

To carry out this project, the young people had to obtain all the necessary materials: paint, tape, tarpaulins, etc. Initially, they financed the purchase of these supplies themselves, thus demonstrating their determination and spirit of initiative.
