2024 will be a pivotal year for French electricity consumers, since it will mark the end of the energy shield. This system, put in place by the government, made it possible to contain electricity prices for households. However, its end announced by the Minister of Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, should lead to an increase in electricity prices from 2024, although this increase will be contained at 10%. A situation which will weigh on the budget of the French, especially since heating, activated earlier this year due to the drop in temperatures, already represents a significant part of household expenses, ranking just after rent and food according to Le Journal du Net.
