Simple and Speedy Cherry Pie Recipe

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a pie dish with one of the refrigerated pie crusts.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and almond extract (if using). Mix well to coat the cherries evenly.
  4. Pour the cherry filling into the prepared pie crust.
  5. Cover the filling with the second pie crust. Trim any excess crust and crimp the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the top crust with the egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
