Today, I’m sharing a delicious recipe for Sablés Bretons à la Crème Pâtissière au Citron, also known as Breton shortbread with lemon pastry cream. Ingredients:

For the pastry:

  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 100g of sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 125g of butter
  • 200g of flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of baking powder

For the pastry cream:

  • 500ml of whole milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 150g of sugar
  • 50g of cornstarch
  • Zest of 2 lemons
