Classic Bread Pudding with Homemade Vanilla Sauce

Heat your oven to 350°F and start by combining the cubed bread and raisins in a large bowl. In a saucepan, heat the milk and 1/4 cup of butter until the butter is melted, then pour this mixture over the bread and let it sit for 10 minutes to soak up all that deliciousness.

Next, stir in the remaining pudding ingredients and pour the mixture into a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Pop it in the oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the pudding is set in the center.

For the vanilla sauce, combine all the sauce ingredients except for the vanilla in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Stir in the vanilla, and you’re ready to serve!
