First, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a large oven-safe skillet or cast-iron pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides. Place the steaks in the hot skillet and sear them for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until a golden crust forms. Once seared, remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside.

In the same skillet, add the halved potatoes and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Toss the potatoes to coat them in the melted butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to your liking.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the potatoes for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are tender and golden.

While the potatoes are roasting, prepare the garlic butter sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
